LM-330 lube test

Together with mechboardsuk i organized a lube test via reddit:
Lube Testing (LM 330 vs Krytox GPL 250 g0)

Hi everyone,

Background

I was curious about if there is any lube available, which is highly available in the EU and therefore maybe also cheaper than the imported Krytox lubes.

So I started to talk to different manufacturers about what I want to replace.

After some time I got a reply from Liqui Moly and also a product recommendation: LM 330 contact grease.

Facts

This grease matches nearly all requirements compared to Krytox:

https://pim.liqui-moly.de/pidoc/P000594/3230-LM330Contact-Grease-10.0-en.pdf
  • suppresses noise and vibration
  • good lubrication at high load
  • for basic and lifetime lubrication
  • high resistance to aging
  • outstanding resistance to oxidation
  • wide operating temperature range
  • does not resinify or become sticky
  • compatible with plastics
  • good corrosion protection
  • low coefficient of friction
  • good water resistance
  • silicone-free

Sounds good?

It does!

Partner

So I started to search for a partner who is interested in investing in one container and helping to make some tests by the community: I found /u/mechboards for that.

They provide us the lube for 3.50£ in their shop:

Evaluation target

My expectation is, that you will help the community to evaluate if this lube has some entitlement to co-exist to Krytox.

Please, order the lube, test it and share your thoughts.

When you share a test report with the community, the costs of the lube and shipping will be refunded! (bought via mechboards, only one refund per order)

My first impressions and quick test
