Stucco [15-10] 1/10

One style of board I was missing at my hobby collection was a TKL. As I like ortholinear layouts, I thought how cool would it be to create a ortho TKL with a knob, flexible layout options.

Together with Technofrikus and ScatteredDrifter, I started this journey.

Technofrikus worked on the case. Therefore he reworked the default stucco case and created an updated version with less but more powerful magnets. Also custom top layouts are possible.

ScatteredDrifter provided the PCB by extending his existing PCB design for the endeavour.

Some PCB specialities:

  • PCB can be 4 or 5 columns (uses mousebites)
  • uses RP2040
  • supports different layouts
  • supports VIAL
PCB with mousebites
VIAL multi layout config

After some iterations and working together, we finally were able to releasee the highly limited mini GB with a number of 10 units.

Build

  • Stucco [15-10] no. 1/10 TKL, HHKB
  • rotary encoder
  • MT3 WoB ortho
  • 2u spacebar
  • MX brown hyperglides, broken-in, lubed with Trybosis 3204, Filmed with Deskeys
  • Case filled with PolyFill
  • tape mod

Conclusion

This was another fun project with Technofrikus where I learned a lot .

I am totally exited with the result and I really love my personal TKL version. Also I am happy with the characteristics of the board: Nice sound, good typing feel, fancy layout, cool encoder – and I finally tried the anti-switch MX Brown in a board …
