my personal top list
Linear
- Cherry MX Black – scratchy and wobbling in stock but sound is king. L+F it to get great clacky results. price / performance is great.
- Cherry MX Black Hyperglide – great clacky and full sound, smooth enough
- Gateron CJs – light lube of 205 on the stem only for great performance. kind of high pitched but lubing takes a good bit of it.
- KTT Rose – clacky due to long stem pole, very smooth out of the box, must be lubed, price / performance king
- Lavender – very smooth linear switch, pre-lubed which saves time
- Alpaca V2 – very smooth linear switch
- Gateron Cap V2 – similar to Inks but way cheaper, also thocky sound and very smooth. Bit louder than Ink V2 or oil kings.
- Gateron Black Ink V2 – for me not worth the money but a very good switch
- Gateron Yellow Pro – better KS3/KS9s as they come prelubed, they have less wobble and they are also budget
- Gateron Black / Yellow KS-3 > KS-9 – “budget” but very smooth and you can not go wrong with them for the price
- Cherry MX Black – good sound but case is wobbly and I hat to desolder them
- aqua king
- tecsee carrot
- Kailh Box Yellow / Red
- Kailh Speed Silver
- JWK Black – had only issues with the switches like broken switches, no hotswap support but in general OK
Tactile
- Moyu Black / Everglide Dark Jade Black – strong tactile, good sound, a bit wobbly, no ping lubed
- Boba U4T – strong switch, deep sound
- Zeal Zealio V2 – too expensive for what you get but if you have the money – go for it
- Durock T1 – light tactile
- Boba U4 – great tactile but I don’t like the “silent” impact: having some rubber bottom at the stem feels wobbly to me
- Glorious Panda – loud, tactile, ping – not good, not bad after spring switch and lubing the feather/stem-leg
- tecsee purple panda
- Cherry MX Brown – feels like a scratchy linear
Clicky
do not bother me with that but if I need to rank them there you go
- Kailh Box Blue – strong tactile
- Kailh Box White
- Cherry MX Blue
- Kailh Speed Bronze
